Teil 1 und 2: Investing in the Stock Market (lecture), Thursdays, from October 5th till
January 25th, hours: 15:00-16:30 via Teams
This module provides broad but in some parts basic knowledge about investing in the stockmarket. Students will be tough about the basics of technical aspect of transaction making process (part: Investing Process). Also they will learn about structure, functions and instruments (part: Security Markets), how to calculate and interpret risk and return (part: Investment Risk and Return), how diversification and portfolio selection process looks like (parts: Portfolio Theory, Investing Styles and Portfolio Management), introduction to analysis and basic evaluation of bonds in contrast to stocks (Fixed-Income Instruments, Bonds Yields, Valuation and Bond Portfolio Immunisation), basics of understanding how does common stock works like, how to analyse and evaluate them (parts: Common Stocks, Security Analysis, Valuation of Common Stocks), other methods of analysing financial instruments (part: Technical Analysis), Financial Crises relations with stock market.
Inhaltliche Beschreibung Teil 1 und 2:
The topic "Stock Market" is discussed and worked on comprehensively. During the
sessions, the students will have small discussions on the topic, guided by the lecturer. |
Lernziele |
Students:
1. Understand the investment environment and transaction on the capital market.
2. Apply the basic tools of capital market investing such as the time value of money, the risk-return relationship, Modern Portfolio Theory and the Capital Asset Pricing Model,
3. Analise stock's value.
4. Analise bond's value.
5. Apply technical analysis
6. Can present performance evaluation and portfolio management techniques.
Students:
- Have a basic knowledge explaining the mechanisms and determinants of economic and social processes
- Are able to use basic theoretical knowledge and acquire data for analyzing the
fundamental processes and phenomena of social and natural sciences
- Can select and apply basic methods and tools to describe and interpret phenomena and
processes and tendencies and trends
- Are able to interact and work in a group, taking on different roles
- Can adequately define the priorities for implementation specified by yourself or other tasks
- Have in-depth knowledge of the functioning of investment markets and knows the
principles of creating and developing entrepreneurship in market economy conditions
- Are able to develop forecasts and simulations of processes taking place on investment markets with the use of advanced methods and tools for the needs of consulting on the real estate market
- Are able to organize and coordinate group work on a specific problem in the field of financial markets
- Can properly define priorities for the implementation of tasks defined by himself or others |
