| Inhalt |
Teil 1: Hindi III, Mittwoch, Termin siehe Veranstaltung, Raumangaben folgen. Unterrichtssprache: English, Deutschsprachige Rückfragen sind möglich. Hindi is one of the most spoken languages of the world, ranking third if considered along with its sister language Urdu, with which it is mutually intelligible. Hindi is used as a mother tongue or lingua franca in most of northern India. It is an Indo Aryan language with a rich, mixed lexicon of mostly Sanskrit and Persian provenance. This course of intermediary Modern Standard Hindi is open for students who have successfully completed the CERES courses Hindi I & II, or have comparable prior knowledge, including knowledge of Hindi grammar, and fluency both in Devanagari script and collo quial communication. While also strengthening the speaking proficiency previously developed, this course looks at some samples of written Hindi from literary and scholarly texts and the media. This allows students to get further acquainted with the various aspects of Hindi grammar studied before, develop their vocabulary, and if desired prepare to work with written sources in Hindi for research purposes. The medium of teaching will be Hindi. Communication about the course will be in English. Any course materials will be provided. Credits are earned by active course participation, proper preparation of the materials to be read and discussed in class, timely submission of assignments, participation in language tandems outside of class times, and an oral examination at the end of the course. |
