Teil 1 und 2: Cyberpsychology and AI (lecture), Dates tba
The aim of the lecture is to present content related to the role that artificial intelligence (AI) plays in cyberpsychology research. Cyberpsychology, a part of psychology focusing on online activities, draws upon artificial intelligence in two ways. Firstly, artificial intelligence influences the shape of the cyber space in which its users reside, creating new forms of individual and collective activities. Secondly, it provides analytical tools to support data analysis and research in the social sciences concerning life in the virtual reality.
Inhaltliche Beschreibung Teil 1 und 2:
The first part of lecture is devoted to AI tools, especially in cyberpsychology studies. The second part of lecture presents current research on cyberpsychology, an area of psychology that concentrates on online activities and their possible influence on wellbeing. The presented content will familiarize students with the scope of cyberpsychology research and the psychological tools used in these studies. In conjunction with the AI tools discussed in the first part, they will form the foundations of the toolkit for researchers exploring social and psychological aspects of the cyber space.

Lernziele |
Knowledge:
After the course the student is able to:
1. Explain terms: cyberpsychology, online personality, online aggression, behavioral
addictions, social comparisons, text mining, machine learning, sentiment analysis, artificial neural networks.
2. Characterize an influence of cyberspace on personality and behaviors among different social generations.
3. Define opportunities and threats of cyberspace on well-being.
Skills:
Student is able to:
1. Describe cyberspace influence on well-being.
2. Describe current research areas on cyberpsychology.
3. Use the Internet, social media, and AI tools in an aware and responsible manner.
4. Recognize the symptoms of mental disorders as a result of excessive immersion in
cyberspace.
Attitudes / Competencies:
Student has:
1. Awareness of cyberspace’s influence on well-being.
2. Ability of using the Internet in a safe and responsible manner.
3. Ability of analyzing possibilities and restrictions of AI tools.
